Hapakun Hike
Hapakun is a scenic high-altitude campsite in District Nagar of Gilgit‑Baltistan (near Minapin village), commonly used as a stop before heading to Mount Rakaposhi Base Camp. It's part of the popular one‑ or two‑day trek from Minapin to Base Camp.
The Hapakun is a highlight within the Rakaposhi Base Camp trek—offering lush alpine meadows, glacier vistas, and panoramic mountain views. Suitable for most trekkers, it can be done over 2–3 days or as a challenging one-day route. Campsites are basic but charming, and the overall experience is highly rewarding.

Hapakun Hike
- Distance: About 30-35 km (Raikote Bridge to Fairy Meadows)
- Hiking Time: 5-8 hours, depending on your pace and terrain.
- Terrain: Rough mountain paths, moderate difficulty.
- Jeep Ride (Raikote Bridge to the Trek Starting Point): A 4x4 jeep ride is needed as the road to Fairy Meadows is quite rough. This ride can be bumpy due to the terrain but offers fantastic views along the way.
Rest, get supplies, acclimatise. Overnight in guesthouse in Minapin.
- Hiking to Fairy Meadows: This final trek involves some elevation gain but is relatively short. Expect a steady ascent through lush green fields.
- Accommodation: basic guest houses, small hotels are there in Fairy Meadows for stay. Also campsites are there. Staying in a tent or a basic guesthouse is the most common option.
- Spend second day exploring Fairy Meadows, taking a short trek towards Nanga Parbat Base Camp, or just soaking in the beautiful views of the majestic Nanga Parbat.
- Optional Trek to Nanga Parbat Base Camp: This can be a full day hike (approximately 4-5 hours one way). A guide is recommended for the trek, depending on tour member experience.
